# Paper Owl Fax
> Send one fax to one US or Canadian number. The user sees every page and the price and approves the charge before anything is sent. Failed faxes are refunded automatically.

create_fax_draft(from_name: string, to: string, text?: string, pdf_base64?: string, pdf_url?: string, cover_page?: {to_name?, subject?, note?})
  from_name is required: the real sender (person or business). It is printed as "From: {from_name} via Paper Owl Fax" with the sending fax number, date and time at the top of every page. Ask the user; never guess.
  Exactly one of text, pdf_base64, pdf_url. US or Canada number. 10 MB max. Creates an unpaid draft; sends nothing.
  Then show the user the sender, recipient, pages and price, and offer preview_url.

send_fax(draft_id: string, payment_token: string, attest_not_advertisement: true)
  CHARGES THE USER the quoted price and sends. Only after the user approved that price in chat. payment_token is the granted Stripe shared payment token (spt_...).
  Idempotent per draft: never charges or sends twice. If your client cannot take payments, give the user review_url instead.

get_fax_status(draft_id: string)
  Read only. Poll about once a minute after payment.

cancel_fax_draft(draft_id: string)
  Cancels an unpaid draft. Nothing is charged.

Not for: bulk faxing, unsolicited advertising, medical records or other protected health information.
